Who am I?

I’m a fully qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), enhanced DBS, and safeguarding training. For more than a decade, I taught at Summerhill School in Suffolk, living and breathing A.S. Neill’s vision of democratic, child-centred education where freedom and responsibility go hand-in-hand.

Today, as Director of A.S. Neill Summerhill CIC, I help spread those principles worldwide through courses, consultancy, and support for progressive educators.

My passion is online science tutoring for KS3 and GCSE students (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), with a special focus on home-educated learners and those on the autistic/ADHD spectrum. I know mainstream approaches can feel rigid or exhausting, my lessons are gentle, interest-led, and built around executive function needs, sensory preferences, and real motivation.

Whether you’re prepping for exams in a relaxed home setting or bridging gaps with tailored support, I offer patient, one-to-one or small-group sessions designed to build confidence and genuine understanding.

A Little More About Me:

Having studied Forensic Science at Degree level (RSc accredited), along with a Master’s in Biology (MSc) and Master’s of Philosophy in Chemical Ecology (MPhil) I am well versed in all of the sciences.

Following my University studies, I started to work in the youth work sector and transitioned into completing my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

From this point onwards, I worked in 6th form colleges teaching A-level and BTEC Science and then an independent boarding school where I was head of the Science department and taught students from ages 5 to 18 in Chemistry, Biology and Physics.

I now teach online full-time, I am the safeguarding lead for an online International School and work with students around the world to achieve the rigorous Cambridge IGCSE’s in all of the Sciences.

Alongside this teaching, I tutor students in all of the main UK GCSE exam boards as well as working with younger students to excel in Entrance exams for many prestigious grammar and independent schools.
All my certificates and qualifications are available if you wish to see them.
